A teenage girl was allegedly shot dead by her father in a suspected case of honour killing in the Dhok Noor Khan Bazaar area within the jurisdiction of Wah Cantt Police Station, Tehsil Taxila, in the late hours of Tuesday

WAH CANTT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) A teenage girl was allegedly shot dead by her father in a suspected case of honour killing in the Dhok Noor Khan Bazaar area within the jurisdiction of Wah Cantt Police Station, Tehsil Taxila, in the late hours of Tuesday.

According to police sources, the incident occurred at around 7:00 am when a man, identified as Anwar Biland, a resident of the area, allegedly opened fire on his 16-year-old daughter, Kinza, resulting in her instant death.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect acted on suspicions regarding his daughter’s alleged relationship with an unidentified individual.

Police said the motive is being treated as a possible case of honour-based violence.

Upon receiving information, local police reached the scene, secured the area, and shifted the body to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Taxila for medico-legal formalities.

Further investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to arrest the accused.
