Teenager drowns in Tanda Dam, Kohat tragedy

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) A 16-year-old boy drowned while swimming at Tanda Dam on Saturday, in a tragic incident that left the local community in mourning.

According to Rescue 1122 Kohat, the victim identified as Rizwan, a resident of Ambar Banda, entered the dam for swimming but went underwater and could not be saved in time.

Rescue divers were immediately dispatched to the scene and later recovered the body from the water.

The body was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Kohat for necessary legal and medical formalities before being handed over to the family.

Authorities have once again appealed to the public to exercise extreme caution while swimming in open water bodies, especially during the summer season, and to avoid taking unnecessary risks that may lead to fatal accidents.
