LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) A notorious dacoit, Farid Mirani, who had a recommended bounty of ten million rupees, was killed in a police encounter along with his accomplice Bhoru Mirani on Wednesday. A Kalashnikov, a bulletproof jacket, and a pistol were also recovered.
According to the Deputy Inspector General of Police Nisar Aftab Pathan, an alert was received near Line Pooni in the jurisdiction of Kashmore Police Station that armed suspects were standing with the intent to commit a robbery. When the police team arrived, the dacoits opened fire on them. In the retaliatory fire by the police, two highly dangerous and wanted outlaws were killed.
He further said the deceased dacoit Farid Mirani was wanted by police in over 37 cases, and the deceased dacoit Bhoru Mirani in over eight cases.
These cases include murder, attempted murder, child abduction, attacks on police, the martyrdom of police officers, highway robberies on the Indus Highway, looting, kidnapping for ransom, and extortion, among numerous other offenses. The killed dacoits were also actively involved in criminal activities in Kashmore District, Ghotki, Rahim Yar Khan, and other areas. The Sindh government had also recommended a ten-million-rupee bounty for the head of the slain dacoit Farid Mirani, he added.
DIG Larkana, Nasir Aftab, has issued orders for cash rewards and commendations for the SSP of Kashmore and the relevant police teams for sending the notorious bandit and his accomplice to hell.
