Textile exports increase 1.25% to $10.904 bln during Jul-Jan 2025-26

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Textile exports witnessed an increase of 1.25 percent during the first seven months of the fiscal year (2025-26) as compared to the same months of last year (2024-25).

The overall textile exports from the country were recorded at $10.904 billion during July-January 2025-26 against the exports of $10.770 billion during July-January 2024-25, the latest data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said.

The textile commodities that contributed to trade growth included knitwear, the exports of which increased by 2.14 percent to $3,098.924 million during the months under review, as compared to the exports of $3,033.938 million last year, while the export of raw cotton also increased by 323.05 percent to $2.606 million compared to $0.616 million last year.

The other commodities that witnessed trade growth included bed wear, the export of which surged by 2.71 percent to $1,919.469 million from $1,868.894 million, tents, canvas, tarpaulin by 2.20 percent to $85.375 million from $83.539 million and ready-made garments by 5.66 percent to $2,579.392 million from $2,441.156 million.

The export of made-up articles (excluding towels and bedwear) increased by 1.

87 percent to $468.936 million from $460.324 million, and all other textile materials up by 5.68 percent to $457.523 million from $432.925 million.

The textile commodities that witnessed negative trade growth included cotton yarn, the export of which declined by 0.78 percent from $430.230 million to $426.874 million, while the export of cotton cloth decreased by 12.18 percent from $1,129.727 million to $992.177 million.

Similarly, the export of yarn other than cotton yarn also decreased by 2.55 percent from $20.343 million to $ 19.823 million, towels by 0.38 percent from $631.970 million to $ 629.557 million, and Art, silk and synthetic textile by 5.27 percent from $236.799 million to $224.312 million.

Meanwhile, on a Year-on-Year (YoY) basis, the textile exports from the country witnessed an increase of 3.14 percent during January 2026 as compared to the corresponding month of last year.

The textile exports in January 2026 were recorded $1,738.803 million against the exports of $1,685.905 million in January 2025.

On a Month-on-Month (MoM) basis, the textile exports also increased by 28.72 percent in January 2026 when compared to the exports of $ 1,350.860 million in December 2025, according to PBS data.
