The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday granted post-arrest bail to Shahid Hamid, a suspect in a human trafficking case

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday granted post-arrest bail to Shahid Hamid, a suspect in a human trafficking case.

Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafiq heard the bail petition filed by Shahid Hamid. Advocate Chaudhry Yasin Zahid appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner, while Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials, including the Faisalabad director, appeared in compliance with the court’s orders.

During the proceedings, the FIA officials were unable to present evidence supporting the allegations levelled against the petitioner. The court had earlier sought the relevant WhatsApp chat record in connection with the case.

The petitioner’s counsel argued that the allegations against his client were baseless. He said the FIA had accused Shahid Hamid of handing over citizens to overseas criminal gangs, including mafias operating in Cambodia and other countries, but had no evidence to substantiate the claim.

The counsel further submitted that a citizen, Umar Inayat, had lodged the case against the petitioner on the basis of false and baseless allegations, and pleaded with the court to grant his client bail.

After hearing the arguments, the court approved Shahid Hamid’s bail petition.
