Three dacoits injured in police encounters

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) Three dacoits were injured in separate police encounters during the last 12 hours.

According to a police spokesperson here Thursday, the criminals were record holders and wanted by police in several street and highway robberies.

A dacoit identified as Shahid Riaz was injured in an encounter that took place near Odhwali Basti, in the limits of Jaranwala. Police were carrying the accused for recovery in a case when his accomplice attacked a police party and succeeded to release the accused.

The police team,however, chased the outlaws and re-arrested the accused Shahid Riaz who was injured in cross firing with dacoits.

The injured dacoit was rushed to the hospital.

Meanwhile, two other dacoits suffered bullet injuries in a shootout that took place near Chak No 132 morr with Dijkot police. They were identified as Naveed and Aqib and wanted in dozens of cases.

They were moved to hospital for treatment.

Police initiated legal action.
