According to police sources, the CCD team was conducting routine snap-checking on March 26, 2026, when they encountered a group of suspected drug peddlers and motorcycle snatchers. Upon being signaled to stop, the suspects allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the police party in an attempt to evade arrest. The accused are habitual offenders with a criminal record spanning dozens of cases involving narcotics, highway robbery, and motorcycle theft. During the exchange of fire, one accomplice managed to escape into the darkness while continuing to fire at the police.

Illegal firearms and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects. The injured were shifted to the DHQ Civil Hospital for medical treatment under police custody.
