Tight security arrangements for anti-polio campaign

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Rawalpindi Police have made foolproof security arrangements for the four-day anti-polio campaign by deploying heavy contingents across the district.

According to a police spokesman, more than 1,000 officers and personnel are performing security duties during the campaign.

He said security is being provided to 688 polio teams, while police have also been deployed at 352 transit points and 231 fixed centres to ensure safe administration of polio drops to children.

Police mobiles, Elite Force and Dolphin Force have been assigned continuous patrolling duties to respond promptly to any potential threat.

The spokesman said Rawalpindi Police remain vigilant to protect lives and property of citizens and no negligence would be tolerated during the campaign.
