Tight security deployed across Chiniot for Eid-ul-Fitr, over 1,000 personnel on duty

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) Chiniot Police have comprehensively finalized strict security arrangements for Eid-ul-Fitr, as District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif on Tuesday announced a district-wide deployment plan. More than 1,000 police officers and personnel will be actively performing duties at Eid prayer congregations, while walk-through gates and metal detectors will be used to ensure thorough checking of attendees.

Moreover, security has been significantly strengthened at key locations, including the Chenab River Bridge, where over 300 personnel will be deployed. Elite Force and Rescue 15 teams will continuously patrol the city and surrounding areas, therefore ensuring a safe and secure environment for citizens during the festive period.

Meanwhile, Station House Officers (SHOs) will closely monitor their respective jurisdictions through coordinated patrol strategies, and a reserve force will remain on standby at Police Lines to respond to any emergency.

Police mobiles and Falcon squads are regularly patrolling bazaars and markets, however additional personnel have also been stationed at sensitive points to maintain vigilance.

Furthermore, authorities have strictly enforced traffic and law enforcement measures, as checkpoints have been established to curb one-wheeling, noisy motorbikes, and unruly behavior. Snap checking is being effectively conducted on all entry and exit routes, consequently ensuring smooth traffic flow, particularly on the Chenab Bridge, where special traffic staff has been deployed to maintain order and facilitate commuters.
