Tight security deployed for polio campaign in Mirpurkhas

MIRPURKHAS, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) SSP Mirpurkhas, Syed Fida Hussain Shah, has deployed special police squads alongside polio teams across the district to ensure foolproof security during the ongoing anti-polio campaign.

Speaking to APP on Monday, the SSP said there would be no compromise on the safety of polio workers, adding that stringent security arrangements have been put in place at all transit points. He directed all SDPOs to remain present in the field and closely monitor transit points, ensuring that deployed personnel are fully briefed about their duties.

All SHOs in the district have been instructed to intensify patrolling in their respective areas, while strict surveillance is being maintained at all entry and exit points of the city to ensure the campaign proceeds peacefully.

Emphasizing the importance of the initiative, Syed Fida Hussain Shah said providing a secure environment for polio workers remains the top priority so they can perform their duties without fear and help protect children from lifelong disability.

He warned that negligence in security duties would not be tolerated and appealed to citizens to cooperate with polio teams and law enforcement agencies to help make Mirpurkhas a polio-free district.
