MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2026) Timely and quality delivery of justice to the public remains the foremost priority of the Punjab Government, Secretary Prosecution Punjab Salman Ghani said during his visit to the District Prosecution Office Multan on Thursday.

He said that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the government is taking concrete measures to ensure equal access to justice for all citizens. He added that comprehensive steps are being taken to provide free legal assistance to deserving and underprivileged individuals so that no one is deprived of their legal rights due to financial constraints.

Salman Ghani directed officials to ensure the effective provision of legal aid through the Punjab Legal Aid Agency in criminal and family cases involving deserving litigants. He further stated that several reforms are being implemented to make the prosecution system more efficient, responsive, and in line with modern requirements, while efforts are also underway to improve prosecution offices, infrastructure, and facilities across the province.

Earlier, during the visit, the Secretary held a detailed meeting with prosecution officers and reviewed departmental affairs, performance, and operational challenges.

District Public Prosecutor Multan Imtiaz Rasool Cheema briefed him on the department’s overall performance in the district, pending cases, available facilities, and ongoing initiatives.

At the conclusion of the visit, Salman Ghani appreciated the performance of prosecution officers and urged them to continue working with dedication and professionalism to ensure the prompt and effective delivery of justice.
