Tirah affectees stage protest against KP Govt for non compensation

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Mar, 2026) The displaced people of Tirah valley here on Wednesday staged protest demonstration against KP Govt for its alleged failure to provide compensation.

The protest was staged by displaced people of Tirah Khyber district outside of the Peshawar Press Club, demanding that the government of KP immediately provide them with the promised compensation and relief package.

The affectees said that although millions of rupees funds have been approved by the government, however payments are still not being made to them.

Participants in the protest also expressed concerns over deforestation and the construction of government buildings in Tirah, Khyber. They said such actions, taken without consulting the local population, were damaging the area’s natural resources and land.

A large number of affectees took part in the protest and chanted slogans in support of their demands.
