ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) The Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan have announced special arrangements for April 22, as heightened security measures were enforced in the federal capital ahead of the expected arrival of foreign delegations for key talks between United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Pakistan is hosting the high-stakes negotiations in Islamabad amid global anticipation of a possible peace agreement between Washington and Tehran following a fragile ceasefire. Authorities have sealed the Red Zone and imposed strict movement restrictions to ensure security for visiting dignitaries.
According to an official notification, the Supreme Court of Pakistan would remain operational on April 22 with limited staff in compliance with instructions issued by the Cabinet Division. Officials have been directed to work from home where possible and remain in constant contact with their supervising officers.
The court also clarified that no adverse orders would be passed in cases fixed in the final cause list for April 22 in Islamabad if any party or lawyer would fail to appear.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court’s branch registries in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta would continue routine operations.
In a separate development, the Federal Constitutional Court announced the suspension of all judicial proceedings on April 22 due to restricted access to the Red Zone. The court stated that security and mobility constraints have made it difficult for judges and staff to reach the premises, leading to the cancellation of the day’s cause list.
However, staff have been directed to perform essential duties from home to ensure continuity of necessary work, while the court’s branch registries in other cities would remain open as usual.
The arrangements reflected broader administrative measures taken across Islamabad as Pakistan prepares to facilitate the crucial US-Iran dialogue, widely seen as a significant opportunity to achieve a breakthrough peace agreement and ease regional tensions.
