RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) President Markazi Anjuman Tajran (Registered) Rawalpindi Sharjeel Mir has urged the government to provide relief to the common man and introduce trader-friendly tax reforms in the upcoming budget.

Addressing a pre-budget press conference, he said that improved consultation between the government and traders was a positive development, adding that for the first time in around 25 years, small traders had been taken on board.

He demanded immediate relief for motorcycle riders, loaders and labourers facing inflationary pressure, emphasizing that easing public hardship was essential under current economic conditions.

Sharjeel Mir said the tax system should be simplified to encourage voluntary compliance, citing around 6 million traders could contribute more effectively under a business-friendly regime.

He also called for a review of additional taxes on solar users and emphasized the need for continuous engagement between the government and trader bodies to resolve issues and strengthen the economy.
