Traffic advisory plan issues for Eid

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) Lahore Traffic Police issued a comprehensive traffic advisory plan for Eid-ul-Azha to ensure smooth traffic flow and facilitate citizens during the holidays.

According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi, special arrangements had been made to maintain uninterrupted traffic movement across the city.

He said additional traffic personnel would be deployed at Eid prayer congregations, mosques and Eidgahs, while special traffic duties would also be assigned outside major recreational spots, including Lahore Zoo, Bagh-e-Jinnah, Greater Iqbal Park, Jallo Park and Model Town Park.

Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi said extra traffic wardens would also be deployed around cemeteries located on busy roads to facilitate visitors and prevent traffic congestion.

He said a separate traffic management plan had been prepared for more than 70 markets and bazaars on Chand Raat.

Under the supervision of divisional officers, 13 DSPs would perform duties, while more than 3,000 traffic officials would remain deployed across the city during all three days of Eid.

The CTO Lahore said the zero-tolerance policy against overcharging and overloading would continue during Eid holidays.

He added that 110 patrolling officers would be deployed on busy roads to prevent one-wheeling, reckless driving and hooliganism, while assistance from Punjab Safe Cities Authority cameras would also be utilized for monitoring purposes.

Raheem Shirazi said Traffic Police would ensure the provision of the best possible traffic facilities to citizens and maintain smooth traffic flow throughout Eid holidays.
