QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) The Quetta Traffic Police have stepped up daily enforcement measures against vehicles with tinted windows and other traffic violations in the Sariab area, as part of efforts to improve road safety and uphold the rule of law.
Talking to APP, Superintendent of Police (SP) Traffic, Sariab Yawar Abbas here on Monday said the provincial government, under directives from Deputy Inspector General of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic, has ordered strict action against vehicles using black-tinted glass. He explained that tinted windows were not only illegal but also hinder crime prevention, making their removal a priority.
Yawar Abbas noted that traffic police were issuing challans to both small and large vehicles on a daily basis, while numerous cars have had their tinted windows removed.
He emphasized that these measures were aimed at safeguarding citizens’ lives and property while ensuring smoother traffic flow.
To manage congestion, particularly at Sariab Road and Purana Adda, traffic officers have been deployed at key intersections to maintain order and take immediate action against violators. Yawar Abbas praised the dedication of traffic police personnel, who continued to perform their duties diligently despite harsh weather conditions, striving to provide better travel facilities to the public.
He appealed to citizens to cooperate by following traffic rules, wearing helmets and seat belts, and avoiding mobile phone use while driving to prevent accidents. “Traffic laws are not just the responsibility of police but of every citizen. Only through collective effort can we improve the traffic system in the city,” he said.
The SP Traffic assured that his office remained open to the public for complaints and pledged that grievances would be addressed promptly.
