Traffic police plan measures to ease congestion during flyovers construction

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2026) The district Traffic authorities have finalized a strategy to minimize public inconvenience and maintain smooth traffic flow during the ongoing construction of the city’s flyovers project.

According to officials, a meeting was held at the Traffic Headquarters here Tuesday under the chairmanship of DSP Traffic Anwar Khattak and Traffic Warden In-charge Akhtar Munir on the directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan Ziauddin Ahmed.

The participants reviewed traffic-related challenges arising from the construction work, discussed alternative routes, and examined measures to address difficulties being faced by commuters.

During the meeting, traffic wardens were directed to take all necessary steps to ensure the uninterrupted flow of traffic and provide maximum assistance to the public throughout the construction period. The officials also considered a special traffic management plan, including the deployment of additional personnel at key intersections and busy roads, enhanced traffic monitoring, and improved public guidance.

DSP Traffic Anwar Khattak said the flyover was an important development project for the city and that all available resources would be utilized to reduce inconvenience to residents while construction work continued. He instructed traffic wardens to assist motorists with professionalism and courtesy while ensuring strict compliance with traffic regulations.

Traffic Warden In-charge Akhtar Munir emphasized that public cooperation was essential for effective traffic management. He urged upon the citizens to use designated alternative routes and follow the instructions of traffic personnel to help maintain the smooth flow of vehicles across the city.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue implementing effective traffic management measures and providing maximum facilitation to the public until the completion of the flyover project.
