Tree plantation drive ongoing across Quetta in full swing

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) District administration official on Wednesday said that a tree plantation campaign is underway across the city in full swing under the Quetta District Administration's “Quetta Clean and Green Initiative 2026”.

He said that the purpose of the tree plantation drive is to make the city green and lush and to control environmental pollution.

In this regard, joint teams of the district administration and Rotary Club are engaged in tree plantation activities in different areas of Quetta, he said.

He said that plants are being planted in the city’s main highways, parks, educational institutions, residential areas and vacant plots so that not only the environment could be improved but also a clean and healthy atmosphere would be provided to the citizens.

A district administration official said that this campaign aims to reduce the effects of climate change, reduce temperatures and raise awareness among citizens about tree plantation.

He said that trees not only keep the environment free from pollution but also have a positive impact on human health.

Representatives of the Rotary Club also expressed their determination on this occasion to continue playing their role in the beautification and environmental improvement of the city in collaboration with the district administration.

He appealed to the citizens to actively participate in this campaign and plant as many trees as possible in their homes, neighborhoods and surrounding areas.

The district administration also emphasized that the care of the planted trees is very important; therefore, the concerned institutions and citizens should ensure the protection and irrigation of these trees so that this campaign gives lasting results.

People belonging to different schools of thought in the city have appreciated this initiative and termed it a positive and welcome step, which would not only improve the environment of Quetta but also provide a clean and green environment to the coming generations.
