Trials for Multan divisional cricket team selection scheduled on Tuesday

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Divisional-level trials to select Multan team for the CM Punjab Inter-Division Hard Ball cricket Championship are scheduled Tuesday at the divisional sports complex, Kalma Chowk in Multan.

Sports officer Ata-ur-Rehman Khan said, the trials are being organized by the Punjab Sports board under the Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab as part of preparations for the championship scheduled later this month.

He said the final selection trials will begin at 9:00 a.m. to shortlist players from the four districts of the Multan Division including Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran and Vehari.

He added that the initiative has been launched under the vision of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif to promote healthy activities among youth and provide them with opportunities to showcase their sporting talent.

Earlier, district-level trials were conducted in the four districts and 16-member squads were selected from each district. Each squad included 10 players in the Under-23 category, four in Under-19, and two senior players.

At the divisional stage, selectors will finalize a team comprising 10 Under-23 players, four senior players, and two Under-19 players to represent the division in the championship.

He instructed that all shortlisted players must bring their original Family Registration Certificate (FRC) along with the smart card or national identity card of their father or guardian for verification in order to participate in the trials.
