Truckload of Unregistered Food Items Seized in Mirpur Crackdown

MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) The Food Authority in Mirpur on Wednesday impounded a fully loaded truck carrying unregistered edible products during a surprise checkpoint operation aimed at ensuring the supply of safe and quality food to the public.

According to officials, the operation was conducted at Chattarpadi Octroi Post, where vehicles transporting food items into the city were inspected. During the check, authorities seized a truck loaded with biscuits belonging to a well-known company for failing to obtain mandatory registration with the AJ&K Food Authority.

District Food Controller Syed Adnan Ali Naqvi, accompanied by Assistant Food Safety Officers Asif Riaz and Raja Shahryar, led the operation as part of ongoing efforts to curb the distribution of substandard and unauthorized food products in local markets.

A spokesperson said the company had earlier been issued a show-cause notice for violating food safety regulations but failed to secure the required license to supply its products in the region. Officials reiterated that strict action would continue against those flouting food safety laws.
