LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-May 13rd, 2026) The Department of Parasitology of the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with Pakistan Society of Parasitology arranged a two-day workshop on “Application of Flow Cytometry to Study Immune Response Against Vaccines” held in City Campus Lahore.
UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani presided over the inaugural session of the workshop while Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Prof Dr Asim Aslam, Prof Dr Imran Rashid, Prof Dr Haroon Akbar, Dr Muhammad Suleman and few participants, researchers & postgraduate students were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Masood Rabbani emphasized to the workshop participants that the aim of training workshop should not be only to obtain a certificate but also to enhance professional competencies related to the field.

He further said that only hard work is required to achieve success and the process of acquiring knowledge and learning practical skills should always continue in your life. He advised the students to play an exemplary role in the betterment of public by utilizing their knowledge and skills and spread the knowledge they gain from training to other professionals.

Various aspects will be discussed in workshop related to parasitic challenges & vaccine development in Pakistan, principal & application of flow cytometry in veterinary sciences and interpretation of result from flow cytometry etc.
The aims of the workshop were to provide opportunities to gain modern research & diagnostic skills to veterinarian, professionals and postgraduate students associated with livestock and immunology related fields.


Meanwhile the Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) of the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged a seminar on Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) call of research project.

Director Animal Health (PARC) Dr Abdul Razzaq gave detailed lecture to UVAS researchers/faculty members regarding mainly focused research areas/topics & how to win Agriculture Linkages Programe (ALP) grants, guidelines how to submit proposals under ALP current call, thematic areas, (ALP) expectations from researchers etc.
