Two-Day Workshop on “Multi-Level Geometric Patterns in Islamic Architecture “at ACP

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Feb, 2026) Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized a two-day workshop titled “Multi-Level Geometric Patterns in Islamic Architecture” conducted by renowned Turkish Artist and academic Dr. SerepEkizlerSönmez at Studio One.

A large number of students attended the workshop from the Arts Council Art school and North City School of Art, along with artists and designers associated with the fields of fine arts and design.

During the sessions, Dr. Sönmez delivered a comprehensive lecture on the mathematical structure, proportion, balance, and artistic intricacies of Islamic geometric design. She also conducted practical exercises, guiding participants in constructing various geometric patterns. Explaining the fundamentals of geometry, Dr. Sönmez stated that by fixing a compass at a single point, precise angles and circles can be formed.
