Two drug suppliers sentenced to 18 years imprisonment

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Two drug suppliers were awarded a total of 18 years imprisonment and fined Rs.480,000.0 by courts in two separate cases on Tuesday.

According to the details, the court sentenced convict Zeeshan to 9 years in jail along with a fine of Rs.400,000.0. He had been arrested by Saddar Bairooni Police in October 2024 after recovery of 1.4 Kg of cannabis.

In a separate case, convict Dilawar was also awarded 9 years imprisonment and fined Rs.80,000.0. He was arrested by Chaklala Police in June last year with 1.4 Kg of cannabis.

A police spokesman termed the convictions a result of solid evidence and effective prosecution of the cases.

City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani appreciated the performance of SSP Investigation and investigation and legal teams, saying strict action was being taken to eliminate drug trafficking.
