Two men shot dead in separate attacks in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) Two men were shot dead in separate incidents by unidentified gunmen in different parts of the district, the police said on Thursday.

In the first incident, unidentified assailants opened fire inside a Masjid in Katta Khel village of Paniala tehsil, killing Wahidullah, son of Abdul Rashid, while he was offering prayers. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

In a separate incident, unidentified gunmen shot dead Malik Elahi Bakhsh, son of Sher Zaman Kanju, in the Muqeem Shah area within the limits of Shorkot Police Station.

Malik Elahi Bakhsh was regarded as a prominent political and social figure in the area. The assailants escaped after carrying out the attack.

The police reached both crime scenes soon after receiving information, collected forensic evidences and shifted the bodies to hospital for legal formalities. Separate investigations have been launched, while efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects.
