Two men shot dead over enmity

BUREWALA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jul, 2026) Two men were shot dead by unidentified assailants in a broad daylight attack near Chungi No. 5, near government rest house, police and local sources said on Thursday.

The victims were identified as Noor Rehman, son of Mir Zar Khan, and Qasim Shah, son of Nasir Shah, both were residents of Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to police sources, the victims were returning on foot from the local court after attending proceedings related to a murder case involving Noor Rehman’s brother, who is currently in police custody. Armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on them on Multan Road, one of the busiest roads in the city.

Both men sustained bullet injuries to the head and died on the spot.

Police sources said the incident appeared to be linked to an old enmity and was likely a continuation of a murder feud stemming from the killing of a trader in Burewala's New K-Block on June 29.

The sources said Noor Rehman was the brother of Siddiq Rehman, the main suspect in the murder of rice trader Anwar Kamal Khan, a resident of Bannu who was living in Burewala. Siddiq Rehman allegedly shot and killed the trader in New K Block last month. The trader's three-year-old son, Saeed Sultan, who was accompanying him on a motorcycle, was also seriously injured in the attack and remains under treatment.

Police had registered a case on the complaint of the slain trader’s wife and arrested Siddiq Rehman along with another suspect for investigation.

Following the latest double murder, police launched an investigation and formed special teams to trace and arrest the attackers. Officials said efforts were underway and the suspects would be apprehended soon.

Further investigations were underway, and the criminals would be arrested soon, police sources added.
