Two suspected drug peddlers arrested after injured in police encounters

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Mar, 2026) The Hyderabad police arrested 2 suspects in injured condition after separate encounters occurring in the limits of Naseem Nagar and Tando Yousuf police stations.

The police spokesman Inspector Shahid Usman informed here on Sunday that Naseem Nagar police shot and injured a suspected drug peddler after an exchange of fire near the Icon City housing scheme near Al Mustafa Trust.

According to him, the police spotted 2 suspects riding on a motorbike and signalled them to stop for checking.

But, he claimed, the suspects opened fire on the cops in a bid to escape.

However, he added, one of the suspects sustained a gunshot and fell from the motorbike but his accomplice managed to escape.

He told that the suspect, identified as Mazhar Ali Bhatti, was shifted to Liaquat University Hospital for surgery of his bullet wound which he sustained in his leg.

The spokesman informed that the second encounter took place on Tando Yousuf road with 2 suspected drug peddlers, one of whom was injured in the alleged exchange of fire.

Usman identified the apprehended suspect as Owais Bhutto Hazaray Wal who was later shifted to the LUH for surgery of gunshot wound which he sustained in his leg

He told that the other suspect, Zubair Rabnawaz, escaped.
