Two suspects arrested by Pindigheb police in murder case, investigation underway

ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) Pindigheb Police have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in a murder case, while further investigation into the incident is underway.

According to police sources, on March 2, 2026, Noor Muhammad, a resident of village Hijri, Tehsil Pindigheb, District Attock, reported the incident to the police. He stated that during Asr prayers at a local mosque, Mushtaq alias Misbah, son of Bahadur Khan, asked his mentally challenged nephew Hamza Sher to move back from the prayer row. At that moment, another individual present there, Abdul Qayyum, questioned Misbah about his action, after which the matter appeared to settle temporarily.

Later, when Noor Muhammad’s younger son, Muhammad Mehran Noor, arrived at the mosque, he was informed about the incident. This led to a verbal argument between Muhammad Mehran Noor and Misbah outside the mosque, after which Misbah left the scene. Police said that both families already had a longstanding dispute, as the suspect’s cousin, Sadaqat, had eloped with and married the complainant’s niece nearly one and a half years earlier.

Police further stated that Noor Muhammad, along with his companions Arsalan Akhtar and Abdul Qayyum, was walking towards a shop, while his son Muhammad Mehran Noor was a few steps ahead of them.

Suddenly, Misbah, armed with a pistol, along with his accomplice Waseem, son of Azeem, who arrived on a motorcycle, appeared at the scene. The suspects allegedly opened fire on Muhammad Mehran Noor, critically injuring him.

Following the gunfire, the suspects fled the scene while brandishing their weapons. The injured Muhammad Mehran Noor later succumbed to his injuries.

After the incident, a case was registered at Pindigheb Police Station and an investigation was launched. District Police Officer (DPO) Attock, Sardar Morahn Khan, took notice of the incident and constituted a special police team with directions to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspects.

Acting with professional expertise, the police team traced and arrested both suspects, Misbah son of Bahadur Khan and Waseem son of Azeem, residents of village Hijri, Tehsil Pindigheb, within a short period of time.

Police officials stated that further investigation into the case is in progress.
