Two suspects injured in separate shootouts with police in district

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jun, 2026) The police arrested two wanted suspects after separate encounters on Wednesday in different areas of the district, while two their accomplices manged to escape, the official sources said.

A police spokesperson said the first incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Langarana police station, adding during a patrol, a police team led by Station House Officer (SHO), Inspector Sarfraz encountered four unidentified suspects, who opened fire upon the team.

During the exchange of gunfire, the police arrested a suspect in an injured condition.

The suspect was reportedly wanted in 35 criminal cases involving various offenses and was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, Bhawana .

In a separate incident on Sahiwal Road, Sub-Inspector Aurangzeb and his team attempted to stop three men riding a motorcycle . The spokesperson said the suspects opened fire on the police , prompting a response operation.

During the operation, the police arrested one suspect in critical condition, while another escaped.

The arrested suspect was allegedly wanted in 32 criminal cases and was transferred to THQ Hospital Lalian .

He said the the police launched search operations in the respective areas to apprehend the fugitives involved in both incidents.
