U.S. Consul General appreciates PM, Field Marshal's efforts for peace in meeting with Governor

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) The Governor of Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi met with U.S. Consul General Charles Goodman at the Governor House on Friday.

They discussed Pakistan–U.S. relations and matters of mutual interest. Detailed talks were held on the region’s geopolitical situation and peace and stability.

The Governor of Sindh stated that Pakistan’s consistent policy is based on dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful resolution. He put emphasis on promoting bilateral cooperation on the basis of mutual respect and equality.

The Governor highlighted vast opportunities for U.S. investment in Karachi.

Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in IT, energy, infrastructure and logistics sectors. The need for joint efforts to address environmental challenges was stressed. They also agreed to strengthen educational linkages, scholarships and people-to-people contacts.

The Governor said Pakistan seeks a balanced and constructive partnership with the United States.

The U.S. Consul General appreciated the efforts of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Field Marshal for promoting peace, stating that the U.S. values these initiatives.

The Governor noted that the people of Pakistan and the United States were peace-loving and committed to promoting global and regional stability.

The Consul General mentioned that Karachi and Houston were sister cities.

Both sides emphasized enhancing trade, economic and people-to-people ties.

It was noted that the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and U.S. President Donald Trump are taking steps for global peace and stability.

They reaffirmed their commitment to further expand cooperation and strengthen relations.

The Governor said that under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, modern training was being provided to young people in more than 200 fields.
