UAD holds patriotic event to mark “Maarka-e-Haq” Day

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) The University of Agriculture Dera Ismail Khan (UAD) on Wednesday organized a special ceremony to commemorate “Youm-e-Maarka-e-Haq” and the first memorial observance of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of national spirit.

The event was held on the special instructions of Vice Chancellor UAD, Dr. Latif Gondal in which a large number of faculty members, administrative officials, and students participated.

Vice Chancellor, Qurtaba University of Science and Technology (DI Khan Campus) Prof. Dr. Khair-uz-Zaman, was the chief guest, while Pro Vice Chancellor, Gomal University Prof. Dr. Naimatullah Babar, participated as the guest of honor.

Among others, the notable attendees were Registrar, Abdul Basit Khan, Controller Examinations, Irfan Khan, Director Finance, Iram Gul, and several senior officials.

The ceremony began with a flag-hoisting ceremony. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Khair-uz-Zaman emphasized upon the historical importance of “Youm-e-Maarka-e-Haq” and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, stating that the occasion symbolizes national unity, sacrifice, and renewed determination. He noted that the Pakistani nation has consistently demonstrated unity during challenging times, which remained its greatest strength.

Encouraging the youth, he urged students to utilize their abilities positively and contribute to the country’s development, stability, and prosperity.

He added that educational institutions were not only centers of learning but also played a vital role in character building and promoting national awareness.

Prof. Dr. Naimatullah Babar, in his remarks, highlighted the role of universities in strengthening the intellectual foundations of nations, adding that such events foster patriotism among students.

Registrar, Abdul Basit Khan, shared that occasions like “Youm-e-Maarka-e-Haq” served as a reminder of the nation’s history, sacrifices, and collective responsibilities. He said the event was aimed to promote unity, patriotism, and national awareness among students and faculty.

He noted that the UAD was committed not only to providing quality education but also to organizing meaningful programs that contribute to character development and national training. He stressed upon the importance of remembering the sacrifices of martyrs, stating that the nation’s freedom and sovereignty were owed to their bravery.

The ceremony concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to the country’s security, progress, and stability. Tribute was paid to the martyrs, followed by special prayers for the nation. At the end, commemorative shields were presented to the chief guest and the guest of honor.
