UGIs holds annual Inter-School Qira’at Competition

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) An annual inter-school Qira’at competition was organised by the Unique Group of Institutions (UGIs) at the Dr Nisar Ahmad Rana Auditorium under the auspices of the Unique Group, where speakers highlighted the importance of promoting Quranic recitation and strengthening students’ attachment with the Holy Quran.

The event was presided over by Chairman of Unique Group Professor Abdul Mannan Khurram, while Chairman of the Muttahida Ulema board, Dr Mufti Intikhab Ahmad Noori, attended as the chief guest.

Distinguished guests included renowned Seerat scholar Dr Tariq Sharifzada, Vice Chancellor of Sialkot University Professor Dr Khaliq-ur-Rehman, and motivational speaker Dr Naushaba Murad.

More than 80 campuses of the Unique Group participated in the competition, with students competing in junior, middle and senior categories.

Addressing the ceremony, Professor Abdul Mannan Khurram said the objective of organising Qira’at competitions was to promote melodious Quranic recitation among students. He said reading and following the teachings of the Holy Quran was essential for ensuring a successful future for the younger generation. He added that such competitions help cultivate love and reverence for the Quran among children.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mufti Intikhab Ahmad Noori said the importance and excellence of the Holy Quran had been clearly explained by Allah Almighty, adding that true success could only be achieved through adherence to its teachings.

He said society was gradually distancing itself from the Quran in the modern era, resulting in deprivation from Allah’s blessings. He appreciated the role of the Unique Group in promoting Quranic education and encouraging students to recite the Quran beautifully and with devotion.

Other speakers included Rector of Unique Group Professor Amjad Ali Khan, Dr Tariq Sharifzada, Professor Dr Khaliq-ur-Rehman and Dr Naushaba Murad.

In the junior category, Abdul Rehman Sajid of Marghzar Campus secured the first position, while Hareem Zahra of Unique Samanabad Campus and Muhammad of Unique Rachna Block Campus secured second and third positions, respectively.

In the middle category, Dua Zahid of Unique Manawan Campus and Robeesa of Adda Plot Campus jointly secured the first position. Minal Shiraz of Unique Shadbagh Campus stood second, while Hareem Liaquat of Unique EME Campus obtained the third position.

In the senior category, Abu Bakar Khalid of Unique Eiffel Tower Campus won the first position, Aliza Zahra of Lower Mall Campus secured the second position, and Hafiz Ahmad of Unique 106-A Campus claimed the third position.

Vice Chairman of Unique Group Afif Ashraf Siddiqui, Director Professor Wasim Anwar Chaudhry, Director Muhammad Abdullah, teachers and a large number of students also attended the ceremony.
