Union urges LG minister to provide funds for 17 unpaid salaries

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Feb, 2026) The Mehran Workers Union of Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Corporation (HW&SC) has urged the Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah to announce payment of all the unpaid salaries to the corporation's employees.

The union's General Secretary Muhammad Aslam Abbassi in a statement issued here on Sunday requested the minister to make the desired announcement during his upcoming visit to Hyderabad during which he would distribute ownership documents to dwellers of unplanned settlements.

Abbassi said the corporation's staff and pensioners had suffered a lot because the authorities had so far defaulted payment of salaries and pensions of 17 months.

He demanded that the provincial government should release funds to the corporation under the head of hundreds of millions of rupees in unpaid dues over the public sector consumers of HW&SC.
