FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) Religious scholars, administrative officials, police officers and community leaders have underscored the need for unity, tolerance and inter-sect harmony to ensure a peaceful Muharram-ul-Haram and strengthen national cohesion, reaffirming their collective commitment to safeguarding peace and stability in the country.
The resolve was expressed at the “Istehkam-e-Pakistan Conference” organized in connection with Muharram-ul-Haram Markazi Sunni Rizvi Jamia Masjid, Mausoleum of Muhaddis-e-Azam Pakistan Jhang Bazaar.
A large number of religious scholars, spiritual leaders, government officials, social figures and citizens attended the conference.
Addressing the gathering, Pir Faiz Rasool Haider Rizvi said that Muharram-ul-Haram teaches the values of patience, perseverance, sacrifice and steadfastness in upholding truth and justice. He emphasized that lasting peace and stability in Pakistan could only be achieved through mutual respect, tolerance and unity among all schools of thought.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhaira said that law enforcement agencies had finalized comprehensive arrangements to maintain peace during Muharram-ul-Haram and were taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens and mourners. He said that the police, with the cooperation of the public and religious leaders, would foil the designs of any elements attempting to disrupt peace and harmony.
The RPO urged citizens to remain vigilant and continue supporting security institutions in maintaining law and order.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Among other speakers were Assistant Commissioner (AC) City Adil Umar, Member Council of Islamic Ideology Hafiz Muhammad Amjad, Mufti Younas Rizvi, Pir Asif Raza Qadri, Muhammad Zubair Sheikh, Maulana Azam Farooq, Rana Asif Tauseef, Abdul Qayyum Anwar, Khalid Mahmood Azam Abadi, Pir Shahid Al-Qadri, Sikandar Hayat Zaki, Hajji Aslam Bhalli and Mufti Liaqat Ali Rizvi.
The speakers unanimously stated that the true message of Muharram-ul-Haram is peace, love, brotherhood and unity. They stressed the need to remain alert against elements seeking to spread sectarianism, hatred and discord and called upon all segments of society to play a constructive role in promoting national unity and the stability of Pakistan.
The scholars highlighted that the sacrifices rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala would continue to serve as a timeless symbol of courage, truth and resistance against oppression.
The lessons of Karbala inspire Muslims to uphold justice, integrity and moral values in every age, they added.
The participants pledged to work collectively for the promotion of religious harmony, peaceful coexistence and national solidarity during Muharram-ul-Haram.
They also appreciated the efforts of the administration and law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and ensuring a secure environment for religious activities.
Later, special prayers were offered for Pakistan's security, progress and stability, success of Pak armed forces and unity among the Muslim Ummah.
