ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) Expert on Thursday expressed their concerns over the rising number of stomach-related illnesses, warning that cases of diarrhea, vomiting and food poisoning are increasing during the summer months and urging the public to take preventive measures.
Renowned expert Dr. Nashtir Anayat while speaking to local media outlet stressed the importance of drinking clean or boiled water, maintaining proper hygiene in food preparation and handling, and avoiding contaminated meals to reduce the risk of infection.
He said stomach diseases tend to surge in summer, particularly in Karachi, where high temperatures and unsafe food practices contribute to a growing number of patients seeking treatment.
The expert also advised people not to consume Eid meat that has been stored in refrigerators for long or handled improperly, warning that spoiled meat could cause serious food poisoning and digestive infections.
