UoG to set up industry liaison office,police service center

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) The Syndicate of University of Gujrat (UoG) on Tuesday approved the establishment of an Industry Liaison Office in collaboration with the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry to strengthen academia industry linkages.

According to an official handout,the facility will offer students hands on exposure to business,trade and start-up ventures, enabling them to better prepare for professional life and contribute to national development.

The decision was taken during the 55th meeting of the syndicate held at Hafiz Hayat Campus under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor(VC),Prof.Dr.Zahoor-ul-Haq,Tamgha-e-Imtiaz with members attending both in person and online.

The syndicate also approved the establishment of a Police Service Center on campus to facilitate students with essential services.

Space for both offices has already been allocated in the university’s Business Incubation Center.

During the meeting,the annual report for 2024-25 was approved, while minutes of the 54th meeting were confirmed. Members were also presented with an implementation report on previous decisions.

The syndicate further endorsed recommendations of the 69th Selection board to help overcome faculty shortages in various departments.

Speaking on the occasion,VC thanked members for their support and stressed the importance of quality teaching and research facilities to produce skilled and responsible citizens.
