ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) The district administration of Upper Kohistan has stepped up efforts to fast-track hydropower and renewable energy projects, as a high-level review meeting agreed on decisive measures to remove obstacles hindering progress.
Deputy Commissioner, Azizullah Jan chaired the meeting, where officials from relevant departments reviewed the status of ongoing projects under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hydropower and Renewable Energy Development Programme (KHRE).
The meeting focused on identifying field-level challenges affecting project implementation. Participants proposed workable solutions, leading to a consensus on immediate actions to resolve issues and improve the pace of development.
Directing the departments, the Deputy Commissioner stressed stronger coordination, efficient use of resources, and swift resolution of public-related concerns. He underscored that timely completion of energy projects remained a top priority.
He said sustainable energy initiatives would play a key role in boosting local development while ensuring the supply of affordable and environmentally friendly electricity to the people.
The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to advancing renewable energy projects, stating that all available resources were being utilized to ensure their smooth and timely completion.
