A report by CNN says schedule for Islamabad talks has not yet been officially confirmed by Washington
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 18th, 2026) The second round of negotiations between the United States and Iran is expected to be held in Pakistan on Monday, according to a media report citing Iranian sources.
A report by CNN said the schedule for the talks has not yet been officially confirmed by Washington.
The development follows the first round of discussions held in Islamabad, where both sides held detailed consultations and agreed to continue engagement through further meetings.
The US delegation during the initial round was led by Vice President JD Vance, and included Jared Kushner, son-in-law of former President Donald Trump, as well as special envoy Steve Witkoff.
The Iranian side was headed by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also part of the delegation.
After the Islamabad talks, both sides reported progress on certain matters and agreed to hold another round of negotiations.
