VC AUP inaugurates faculty of Molecular, Biological Sciences

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) Vice Chancellor (VC) Agricultural University Peshawar (AUP) Professor Emeritus Dr Jahan Bakht on Tuesday termed the establishment of the Faculty of Molecular and Biological Sciences at the varsity a major milestone in the academic and research development of the university.

Addressing the foundation stone-laying ceremony, the VC said the new faculty would significantly promote education and research in modern biological sciences, biotechnology, and genetic engineering.

He emphasized that the initiative would strengthen the university’s role in producing skilled graduates capable of meeting contemporary scientific and technological challenges.

Dr Jahan Bakht stated that the faculty would open new avenues for national and international research collaboration, enabling researchers and students to contribute effectively to advancements in agricultural and biological sciences.

He added that the establishment of specialized institutes under the new faculty would help align academic programs with global standards and emerging scientific needs.

Appreciating the efforts of the faculty members and university administration, the Vice Chancellor expressed confidence that the Faculty of Molecular and Biological Sciences would play a pivotal role in the future development of agriculture-related research and innovation.

He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to excellence in education, research, and knowledge dissemination for national progress.
