Violation of the Kite Flying Act, 8659 accused arrested this year

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) Punjab Police has arrested 8,659 accused this year in a thorough operation across the province for violating the Anti-Kite Flying Act.

According to the Punjab police data , 453,390 kites and 12,992 string spinning wheels were recovered during the operations.

Likewise, 3,810 accused were arrested in Lahore while 3,663 cases were registered.

111,971 kites and 4,159 string spinning wheels were recovered in Lahore itself.

It is worth to mention here that IG Punjab Abdul Karim has said that kite flying is not tolerable anywhere in the province.

He directed that the elements involved in the online business of kites should also be brought to justice. The Punjab IG appealed to parents to keep their children away from this bloody game to avoid the loss of precious lives.
