HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jun, 2026) Tando Jam police on Monday claimed to have arrested a wanted suspect in an injured condition following an alleged encounter, while his accomplice managed to escape.

According to a Hyderabad Police spokesperson, acting on a tip-off that armed criminals were present near Chhutto Mori on the Matiari link road with the intention of committing a crime, a police team rushed to the spot. Upon seeing the police, the suspects opened fire, prompting the police to retaliate.

During the exchange of fire, the police arrested the suspect, identified as Khalid Gahelo, in an injured condition, while his unidentified accomplice fled the scene.

The spokesperson said the injured suspect was immediately shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

Police said Gahelo was wanted in more than 13 serious criminal cases registered in Hyderabad and other districts.

A 9mm pistol along with ammunition was also recovered from the possession of the arrested suspect. Tando Jam police have registered separate cases against the arrested suspect and his absconding accomplice.
