WASA clears rainwater after overnight downpour in Chiniot

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) Following 32 millimeters of rainfall overnight, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Chiniot on Saturday launched an extensive drainage operation and successfully cleared rainwater from major roads and low-lying areas across the city.

Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan, WASA teams remained on duty throughout the night, ensuring uninterrupted monitoring and swift response to water accumulation in vulnerable locations.

According to WASA officials, the affected areas were cleared through timely interventions, continuous surveillance, and the dedicated efforts of field staff.

The operation continued until normal conditions were restored, with authorities striving to minimize inconvenience and provide better services to residents.

WASA Chiniot has urged citizens to refrain from disposing of garbage, plastic bags, and other waste materials into drains, nullahs, and sewerage lines. Officials emphasized that public cooperation is essential for maintaining an effective drainage system and preventing urban flooding and sanitation issues during the monsoon season.
