Wastewater treatment plant to transform urban landscape: parliamentary secretary

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Housing Barrister Sultan Bajwa said that state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant being constructed in Faisalabad would prove a game changer for urban development and environmental improvement in Punjab.

He visited the project site surprisingly and reviewed the pace as well as quality of ongoing construction work. He also received a detailed briefing from concerned officials of Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA).

Barrister Sultan Bajwa termed the project the largest wastewater treatment initiative in Punjab and emphasized that it would significantly contribute to sustainable urban growth and environmental protection.

He directed the consultants and contractors to ensure the use of the best quality construction materials so that the project could serve as a model of excellence.

He also instructed the authorities to strictly implement the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Punjab government for the safety and security of foreign engineers and staff working on the project.

Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza, along with Project Director Owais Jamal and other senior officers, was present on the occasion.

The MD informed that construction work on the mega project was progressing at a fast pace and would be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
