District Police Officer (DPO) Murree says roads have become highly slippery due to persistent rain and hailstorms, increasing risk of accidents

MURREE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 20th, 2026) Continuous rainfall over the past 48 hours has led authorities to issue a safety advisory, urging residents and tourists to exercise caution amid deteriorating weather conditions.

The District Police Officer (DPO) Murree said roads have become highly slippery due to persistent rain and hailstorms, increasing the risk of accidents. Citizens and visitors have been advised to avoid unnecessary movement.

The DPO warned that driving conditions have become extremely dangerous and indicated that further restrictions may be imposed if the weather situation intensifies.

He also urged tourists currently in Murree to limit their activities, adding that emergency teams have been placed on high alert to respond to any situation.

The authorities said visibility has dropped significantly at various locations due to fog, rain, and hail, making conditions more challenging.

The DPO advised people to check weather updates and road conditions before heading out and called for full cooperation with police and local administration.

He emphasized avoiding movement on hilly and steep roads, reiterating that public safety remains the top priority and urging people to step out only in case of necessity.
