WFD observed to honor firefighters' services

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) The World Firefighters Day (WFD) on Monday was marked here with events held to honour firefighters for their service and sacrifice in emergency situations.

An awareness walk was organised from Rescue 1122 Central Station to Kalma Chowk, led by District Emergency Officer, Tahira Khan and attended by rescue officials and firefighters.

A flag march was also carried out up to the Sargodha Road Bypass intersection to promote public awareness about fire prevention and evacuation measures.

Later, a meeting chaired by Khan reviewed issues faced by firefighters and discussed proposals for their resolution.

Speaking on the occasion, she described firefighters as “true heroes” who perform their duties under challenging conditions and urged the public to follow fire safety guidelines and promptly contact Rescue 1122 in case of emergencies.
