DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) The Wildlife Department successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 20 rare cranes and arrested the suspect involved.
Acting on the directives of Divisional Forest Officer (Wildlife) Dera Khan Malook Khan, a special team was constituted under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Wildlife Officer Malik Saqib and Range Officer Asmatullah Khan.
During the targeted snap checking, the team intercepted an illegal consignment of 20 cranes being transported from Balochistan to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The birds were taken into custody, and the suspect was arrested on the spot. A case has been registered against him.
DFO Khan Malook Khan stated that the successful operation reflects the professionalism, vigilance, and strong commitment of the field staff toward the protection of wildlife.
He reaffirmed that strict and indiscriminate action against illegal hunting and wildlife trafficking will continue across the province.
