A woman lost her life after reportedly jumping in front of a moving passenger train near Attock railway station, police and railway sources said on Wednesday

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) A woman lost her life after reportedly jumping in front of a moving passenger train near Attock railway station, police and railway sources said on Wednesday.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred at a level crossing in the Mehmoodabad area when the Awam Express was passing through.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, allegedly threw herself onto the tracks and was run over, resulting in her death on the spot.

Authorities said the identity of the deceased could not be immediately ascertained, and efforts are underway to trace her family. The body has been shifted for necessary legal formalities.

Attock Saddar Police have registered a case and launched further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
