SARGODHA:

A 23-year-old woman was allegedly murdered in the name of "honour" in Sargodha, police said, adding that a case has been registered while the suspects remain at large.

The incident took place in Niaz Colony within the jurisdiction of Miani police station.

According to the FIR, the victim, Zoha Kausar Rajput, had contracted a love marriage in May 2025 with Umair, a resident of Hafizabad.

Following the marriage, her family allegedly lodged a kidnapping case against the husband and later brought her back home, reportedly securing a divorce under the pretext of reconciliation.

The complainant, Aamir Sohail, a resident of Vehari, stated in the FIR that he had married Zoha about one month and 18 days ago in the same locality.

He said that before leaving for duty, he had dropped his wife at her parents' house.

According to the complainant, Zoha later called him expressing fear for her life, citing the behavior of her brothers, Arsalan, Imran, and Shehzad - as well as her father.

She allegedly asked him to take her away immediately, saying she was in danger.

However, when Aamir Sohail reached the house to pick her up, he was informed that she had died.
