Woman murder: husband, friend sentenced to life imprisonment

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) A model court on Thursday sentenced a man and his friend to life imprisonment after finding them guilty in the murder of former's wife in the Kot Lakhpat area.

Model Court Judge Zafarullah Khan announced the verdict after completion of the trial, convicting accused Liaqat Ali and his friend Yaseen.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs200,000 each on the convicts.

During the proceedings, Prosecutor Shabbir Ahmad Khan presented witnesses and documentary evidence, which the court found sufficient to establish the guilt of the accused.

According to the prosecution, the convicts had murdered a woman identified as Tanzeela. Following the incident, Kot Lakhpat Police registered a case against the accused in 2013.
