FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Women’s cricket talent hunt trials have commenced in Faisalabad and eight other cities across the country, with participation of national selectors and regional coaches to identify emerging female cricketers.
According to officials of Pakistan Cricket board, the nationwide trials are being conducted simultaneously in nine cities and it will continue till May 01 as part of efforts to strengthen the women’s cricket structure at grassroots level.
In Faisalabad, the trials were formally launched at Iqbal Stadium where aspiring female cricketers showcased their skills in Under-19 and emerging categories.
National women’s selector Asad Shafiq along with regional coaches closely monitored the performances of participants during the trials, assessing their technical abilities and overall potential for future selection.
PCB officials said that this initiative aimed at providing equal opportunities to talented female players from different regions, enabling them to progress into higher levels of competitive cricket.
The trials would help in identifying promising players who could be groomed for national representation, thereby contributing to the development and promotion of women’s cricket in the country, the officials added.
