HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Mar, 2026) On the directions of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi and Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput, a Women's Facilitation Centre has been established at the Sessions Court Hyderabad with the objective to give women litigants a safe, dignified environment where they can actually walk into a courtroom without fear or hesitation to pursue their legal rights.
The centre has been set up with women's real needs in mind. There's a separate and secure entry point, a reception desk, legal aid offices for free guidance and advice, dedicated mediation rooms for resolving family disputes privately and peacefully, a special consultation room for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), and waiting and counselling areas.
One feature that stands out is the supervised family visiting rooms and a child-friendly space ,so women who come to court with their children aren't forced to sit in the harsh, intimidating environment that courts typically are.
The idea is to shield children from that atmosphere as much as possible while keeping mothers comfortable and their privacy intact, particularly those who come with young kids.
Lawyers and litigants familiar with the centre say it won't just help women better understand legal complexities ,it'll give them the confidence to actually speak up for their rights without feeling pressured or overwhelmed.
Assistant District Public Prosecutor Aimen Jamali has been posted at the centre to provide legal guidance, support, and counselling to women litigants so they can move forward in their cases with clarity and confidence.
It's also worth noting that the centre isn't only for women litigants ,it serves as an important facility for women lawyers too, giving them a better, safer, and more professional environment to carry out their work.
